Flame Health Audiology has been instructed to recruit a Mobile Hearing Aid Audiologist covering Swindon, with travel of up to two hours from home. The role offers a basic salary of £50,000–£52,000, uncapped tiered commission and a weekday schedule, and may suit an audiologist looking for clinical autonomy alongside structured support and development.
Reporting to the Area Manager, you will deliver hearing care through a varied schedule of assessments, aftercare and wax removal appointments. The mobile nature of the position calls for flexibility across appointments while giving you autonomy over your schedule and time to provide individual consultations.
You will use equipment including video otoscopy, tympanometry, speech testing, real-ear measurements, microsuction and irrigation tools. As the employer is not tied to specific hearing aid manufacturers, you can recommend solutions according to each patient’s needs.
A three-week induction covers the organisation’s approach, equipment and service standards. Wax removal training is available where needed, and the clinical care team provides ongoing support and development. The package includes a company car or car allowance, a medical cash plan, gym membership, paid volunteering time, annual leave with commission coverage during the first 25 days, and a quarterly bonus of up to £4,000.
Our client is an independent, family-run provider of optical and hearing care services. Patient care is central to its approach, and its independence from specific hearing aid manufacturers allows clinicians to consider a range of solutions for the people they support.
The organisation provides personalised development plans, ongoing training and annual conferences with workshops, seminars and industry updates. It also holds company-funded events to recognise colleagues’ achievements. These opportunities offer scope to share professional insights and learn from others in the hearing care sector.
HCPC registration is relevant to the role. Applications from people awaiting registration are welcome, and support may be available to help them obtain it. Applicants from NHS or private practice are considered, with induction designed to help new starters build confidence in the clinic setting.
You should be comfortable carrying out hearing assessments, aftercare and wax removal, and using the clinical equipment provided. A patient-focused approach and sound judgement when recommending suitable hearing solutions are important. The position also calls for the ability to manage appointments autonomously while making good use of clinical support and development opportunities.
This position may suit an audiologist seeking a mobile role with ownership of their schedule, varied patient appointments and access to ongoing clinical support. It could also appeal to someone moving between NHS and private practice who would value a structured induction and the freedom to recommend solutions based on individual needs.
The role covers Swindon, with travel of up to two hours from your home address.
