Flame Health Optometry have been instructed to recruit an Optical Assistant or Hearing Care Assistant for a confidential, permanent onsite role based across Essex. Offering a salary of £30,000 to £35,000, this position will suit someone who is patient-facing, personable, and keen to build a career in optical care with full training and development support.
This is a mixed practice and field-based position, with day-to-day work covering customer contact, reception and front of house duties, patient registration, appointment booking, and a smooth handover to the optician. You will also use optical knowledge to dispense to all levels, carry out focimetry and job verification, fit and repair spectacles, and support sales activity where needed.
The role extends beyond the branch environment, with home visits to provide care to patients in their own homes and leaflet campaigns as part of field work. You will work alongside the wider team, learning clinical skills within optical and audiology settings, and make use of up-to-date technologies and systems to work efficiently and effectively.
