Job Overview:

As the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the successful launch and ongoing operations of our new flagship practice in Wandsworth. This role demands charisma and exceptional leadership skills due to its high profile. You will work closely with all aspects of the business to ensure the smooth integration of the new store into our brand strategy and meet demanding customer and commercial targets.

Our client is a well established, expanding Independent Group that provides premium eye care solutions, through a bespoke personal service. 

Key Responsibilities:

Launch and Development:

· Lead the successful launch of the new Wandsworth flagship practice.

· Work closely with all aspects of the business to integrate the new store into the brand strategy.

· Implement business development strategies to attract increased volumes of patients and engage with local businesses and the community.

Team Management and Business Growth:

· Effectively manage direct reports, including dispensing opticians, clerical staff, optometrists, and front-of-house staff.

· Build successful working relationships with optometrists, fostering collaboration and ensuring seamless coordination for the delivery of comprehensive eye care services.

· Foster a collaborative environment and establish open lines of communication with front-of-house staff to ensure a positive and efficient patient experience.

· Supervise and train junior staff to ensure high performance levels and provide ongoing development opportunities.

· Implement strategies to achieve demanding commercial targets and deliver on the investment in the new store.

· Develop and deliver training programs for the team to enhance their skills and performance.

Community Engagement:

· Build strong relationships with the local community and businesses.

· Develop and implement initiatives to increase the visibility of the flagship practice and drive patient engagement.

Dispensing Optician Tasks:

· Design, measure, fit, and adapt lenses and frames for clients.

· Assist clients with selecting frames.

· Measure customers for eyeglasses and coordinate frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.

· Prepare work orders for the optical laboratory containing instructions for grinding and mounting lenses in frames.

· Verify the exactness of finished lenses.

Key Result Areas/Deliverables:

· Successful launch and integration of the flagship practice.

· Achievement of demanding commercial targets and return on investment.

· Delivery of a range of customer and commercial KPIs.

· Increased volumes of patients through effective business development strategies.

· Positive community engagement and strong relationships with local businesses.

· Provide charismatic leadership to meet the high profile demands of the role.

· Collaborate closely with all aspects of the business to achieve brand and business objectives. Utilize sales and business development expertise to maximize opportunities for the practice.

Experience Required:

· Proven experience as a Practice Manager in an optical setting, demonstrating successful leadership and management skills.

· Ability to independently dispense lenses and frames in accordance with optical prescriptions, with a deep understanding of optical principles and technology.

Leadership and People Development:

· Strong leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing teams in a dynamic and customer-focused environment.

· Demonstrated ability to build successful working relationships with optometrists, dispensing opticians, and front-of-house staff to foster collaboration and achieve business objectives.

· Proven experience in developing and implementing training programs to enhance the skills and performance of team members.

· A history of driving business growth through effective management strategies and achieving demanding commercial targets.

· Charismatic and personable, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

· Commitment to providing world-class customer service and maintaining high standards of patient care.
