Flame Health has been instructed to recruit a UK Pharma National Sales Manager for a hybrid role based in Bishop’s Stortford. This is a senior commercial leadership position for an experienced pharmaceutical sales professional ready to lead a national Key Account Management team, develop people and deliver growth across a product portfolio.
The role offers a salary of £80,000–£90,000, plus car allowance and bonus. It will suit a commercially minded pharmaceutical sales leader with first-line management experience who is ready to take on broader national responsibility and work closely with senior business stakeholders.
Reporting to the Country Manager, you will lead a team of six Key Account Managers and shape the UK key account strategy. Your focus will be on increasing market penetration, developing customer accounts and supporting sustainable revenue growth.
You will monitor sales performance, KPIs and market share, review customer-level sales reports, approve account plans and ensure consistent use of CRM and commercial systems. The role also involves investigating reporting discrepancies with Supply Chain, monitoring stock levels and providing the Country Manager with regular analysis, insights and recommendations.
Alongside commercial planning, you will coach the team through field visits, one-to-ones and performance reviews. You will work with Marketing, Medical, Market Access and Supply Chain colleagues, and build relationships with stakeholders across NHS and private healthcare organisations, including healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders. All activity must meet relevant regulations, industry codes and company policies.
Our client is an international pharmaceutical company working across research and development, manufacturing, marketing and sales. Its portfolio spans specialist healthcare areas, including joint, skin and eye care. The business operates in a regulated sector and focuses on developing and supplying pharmaceutical products for healthcare professionals and patients.
The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the UK commercial direction while leading a national account management function. It combines team development and customer engagement with responsibility for performance, planning and compliant execution.
A university degree in Life Science is required; an MBA in Pharma Business is preferred. You will bring five to ten years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales, including at least three years in a first-line management role, alongside in-depth knowledge of a therapeutic area relevant to the product portfolio.
You will be confident in forecasting, planning, analysing data and reporting on commercial performance, with experience using CRM systems and sales dashboards. Financial acumen, advanced negotiation, presentation and communication skills are important, as are the ability to coach and develop people and to manage priorities across functions. A strong understanding of compliance standards and very good English are also required.
This opportunity will suit an established pharmaceutical sales manager who is motivated by both developing people and improving account performance. It offers a next step for someone seeking national leadership responsibility, with the scope to influence senior stakeholders while remaining close to customers and execution.
The role is hybrid with UK operations based in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, with UK-wide responsibility.
