Independent Practice | Part-Time or Full-Time

The Opportunity

Flame Health is working in partnership with a long-established independent optical practice in Hertford, recruiting an experienced and patient-focused Optical Advisor to join their friendly and professional team.

This respected practice has served the local community for over 40 years, earning an excellent reputation for bespoke, patient-centred eye care. The role offers a supportive working environment where quality service and patient experience are prioritised over sales targets.

About the Practice

The practice delivers a highly personalised optical service, supported by:

• An experienced and close-knit optical team
• A wide selection of premium spectacle frames
• Specialist contact lens services

The role offers exposure to complex and high-end dispensing work, providing excellent scope for professional development beyond standard high-street roles.

The Role

• Part-time (3–4 days) or full-time considered
• Saturday working required, with flexibility (finishing at 1:30pm)
• Dispensing and advising patients on premium eyewear and lens solutions
• Supporting complex prescriptions and bespoke frame fitting
• Delivering outstanding patient care in a calm, non-pressurised environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an Optical Advisor who can demonstrate:

• Experience working as an Optical Advisor / Optical Assistant / Dispenser
• Strong dispensing knowledge and attention to detail
• A genuine passion for patient care and service excellence
• Confidence supporting high-end and complex dispensing cases
• A willingness to continue developing optical knowledge and skills
• Ability to commute from surrounding areas, including Luton
