Flame Health Optical Division are currently working on behalf of a leading independent optical company who are looking to recruit a Technical Services Team Leader to join their established team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Dispensing Optician with strong leadership skills and a passion for technical excellence to take the next step in their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role:

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the technical support and returns team, You will take ownership of escalated technical issues, streamline the returns process, and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of technical support specialists and returns operators.
• Plan daily workloads, conduct regular performance reviews, and support ongoing team development.
• Oversee all technical queries, visual issue troubleshooting, and dispense-related concerns.
• Manage the full returns process, working closely with internal teams to minimise return rates and improve efficiency.
• Analyse returns trends and report findings to senior management, offering practical solutions for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of optical products and technologies, and provide training when required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Fully qualified Dispensing Optician (GOC registered)
• Proven leadership, coaching, or supervisory experience (ILM, NVQ or equivalent desirable)
• A strong understanding of customer service excellence
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Good working knowledge of IT systems and ISO processes
• A proactive attitude with a passion for personal development and team success
