As a Clinical Manager your role is highly important in providing clinical management and leadership of the clinical team for the delivery of a safe, efficient, reliable and a high quality clinical service.You will lead your clinical team and as an experienced clinical leader your leadership style is always delivered with a caring and respectful disposition.

As a credible clinician you will be able to influence and utilise negotiation skills in the best interest of patients when such advocacy is required.

Key accountabilities
Clinical Operations and Management
working with the Service Manager & Clinical Lead to support the development, delivery and review of the service specification to include patient experience, KPI targets, resource profile and cost management, ensuring the clinical workforce is adequate in competence and sufficient in numbers to meet contractual and any other regulatory and professional quality requirements.

Clinical Governance, Health & Safety & Complaint Management
to work with the Clinical Lead and support implementation and delivery of key clinical governance processes, chairing the IUC governance meetings. 

Clinical Duties
  • Work autonomously and be accountable for his/her own professional actions.
  • CPD and Development
  • Ensure on-going CPD to keep up to date of new clinical developments & maintain an understanding of the requirements of the wider clinical workforce.
  • Essential
  • An experienced Nurse or Paramedic with current professional registration
  • Master level education meeting requirements for advanced level practice currently working clinically
  • Non-medical prescriber
  • Experience of working in an urgent care environment such as Integrated Urgent Care/Out of Hours, Urgent Treatment Centres/Walk in Centres or A&E, 111
  • Sound knowledge of clinical governance
  • Sound knowledge of IUC workforce blueprint
  • Will have an understanding of the political agenda and drivers influencing urgent care and primary care provision.
  • Good management and leadership skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Good organisational and IT skills – use of excel, PowerPoint and clinical IT systems such as Adastra
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written, verbal (Particularly listening skills)
  • Clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise own workload
  • Experienced leader/manager understanding of what good looks like and demonstrating success of good clinical performance
  • Good clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and management of acute Primary care presentations
  • Be able to clear an enhanced DBS check
  • Must be authorised to work in the EEC
Desirable
  • GP registrar supervisor
  • 111 Pathways trained
