Flame Health Audiology has been instructed to recruit a HCPC-registered Hearing Aid Dispenser for a domiciliary role covering Exeter and surrounding areas. The position offers up to £40,000, monthly commission, and a company car, with weekday-only working and no weekends. It would suit an experienced hearing care professional who combines clinical expertise with confidence in private sales and enjoys supporting patients in their own homes.
As a domiciliary audiologist, you will manage a daily schedule of adults with hearing loss and provide audiological testing in their homes. Your responsibilities will include pure tone audiometry, masking where required, assessment for non-organic and noise-induced hearing loss, aural impressions, ear mould selection, and the fitting and programming of appropriate hearing instruments.
You will provide structured, patient-centered aftercare, use subjective and objective outcome measures, and apply Real Ear Measurement to verify fittings. The role also includes ear care and wax removal following appropriate training, maintaining test equipment, arranging calibration, and following infection control procedures. You will work autonomously while receiving logistical and clinical support from central teams and reporting to a Regional Manager.
Our client provides home-based hearing and sight care, supporting people who may find it difficult to access traditional clinical settings. Its professional teams deliver care in patients’ homes, with a focus on improving everyday hearing and quality of life through personalized clinical support.
The package includes private medical insurance, a company car, life assurance at four times salary, health and wellbeing initiatives, a contributory pension with equal 5% employee and employer contributions, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, and access to a colleague assistance program. Discounted eyewear and hearing products are available after the qualifying period.
You must be registered with the HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser, with appropriate training provided where needed. You will bring experience in audiological assessment, hearing instrument selection and fitting, aftercare, outcome measurement, and evidence-based practice. A commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining records that meet HCPC requirements is essential.
You should be a confident driver with at least two years’ driving experience and the ability to navigate multiple locations. The role requires an effective and flexible communicator who uses digital systems accurately, remains calm under pressure, takes a pragmatic approach to problem solving, and can organize and multitask effectively. You must understand your clinical knowledge and limitations, recognize when to seek advice, and contribute constructively within a clinical team.
This position suits a qualified hearing care professional who wants greater autonomy while retaining access to clinical, logistical, supervision, and training support. It may appeal to someone motivated by patient-centered domiciliary care, private sales, and the opportunity to develop their scope of practice while maintaining high professional standards.
The role is based in Exeter and surrounding areas, with patient visits carried out in their homes across the local area.
