Flame Health Audiology have been instructed to recruit a Hearing Aid Dispenser for a domiciliary position covering Plymouth and surrounding areas. Offering up to £40,000 plus monthly commission and a company car, this weekday-only role suits a confident audiology professional who values autonomy, patient-centred care and supporting adults in their own homes.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will manage a daily schedule of adults with hearing loss, providing audiological testing and hearing care in patients’ homes. Your responsibilities will include pure tone audiometry, masking, testing for non-organic and noise-induced hearing loss, aural impressions, ear mould selection and the programming and fitting of hearing instruments.
You will provide structured aftercare, use subjective and objective outcome measures, and apply Real Ear Measurement to verify fittings. The role also includes ear care and wax removal, equipment maintenance, calibration arrangements and adherence to infection control procedures. You will work autonomously while receiving logistical and clinical support from central teams.
Our client provides domiciliary hearing care, supporting people with hearing loss in the comfort of their own homes. The role offers professional autonomy alongside central clinical and logistical support, with a focus on evidence-based practice, appropriate patient outcomes and high standards of care.
The package includes private medical insurance, a company car, life assurance at four times salary, a contributory pension with equal 5% employee and employer contributions, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, wellbeing initiatives, colleague assistance support and discounts on eyewear and hearing products after the qualifying period.
You must meet the appropriate level of expertise to register with the HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser; suitable training will be provided where needed. Experience in audiology and hearing instrument fitting is required, together with the ability to work within your clinical knowledge, recognise professional boundaries and seek advice appropriately.
You will be an effective, flexible communicator who can work calmly under pressure, solve problems pragmatically and manage competing priorities. Strong organisation, attention to detail and confidence using digital systems are important. You must also be a confident driver with at least two years’ driving experience and the ability to navigate multiple locations.
A commitment to reflective practice, supervision, ongoing training, clinical governance and maintaining HCPC-compliant CPD records is expected.
This position will suit an audiology professional seeking a weekday role with greater independence and the opportunity to deliver meaningful care directly in patients’ homes. It is well suited to someone who wants to develop their scope of practice while retaining access to clinical guidance, training and wider operational support.
The role is based in Plymouth and surrounding areas, with travel to patients’ homes during weekdays. Plymouth offers access to coastal surroundings, established transport links and a broad range of local amenities.
