Flame Health Audiology have been instructed to recruit a Hearing Care Assistant for a permanent, full-time onsite role based across Essex.
Offering a salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, this position will suit a patient-facing individual who is keen to build a long-term career in audiology with structured training and development.
This is a varied practice and field-based role combining customer service, administration and patient support within a busy independent hearing care setting. Working alongside experienced Audiologists, you will welcome patients, manage reception duties, register patients, book appointments and help ensure a smooth journey throughout each visit.
You will also support hearing clinics by preparing equipment, assisting with hearing aid aftercare, carrying out basic hearing aid maintenance and repairs, changing tubing and batteries, and helping with demonstrations where appropriate. Full training will be provided.
The role also includes visiting patients in their own homes, supporting community outreach and leaflet campaigns, and working with modern hearing care technology while developing both clinical and customer service skills.
Our client is a growing independent optical and hearing care provider serving communities across multiple locations in Essex. The business is committed to delivering exceptional patient care within a friendly, community-focused environment and places a strong emphasis on staff development, ongoing training and long-term career progression.
You will be joining a collaborative culture where practical learning, patient care and professional growth are actively encouraged. The role sits within a service-led business that values consistency, support and a hands-on approach.
A full UK driving licence is essential, and GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths is required. Previous experience within hearing care, healthcare, retail or customer service would be advantageous, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
We are looking for someone with a friendly, professional and patient-focused approach who is comfortable working both in practice and travelling to patients’ homes. A willingness to learn new clinical skills and develop within audiology is important, as is the ability to work up to five days per week.
This role would suit someone looking to begin or develop a career within hearing care while receiving structured training and ongoing support. It is well suited to a candidate who enjoys working closely with people, providing excellent service and making a genuine difference to patients’ quality of life.
The role covers practices across the Essex area, with community and home visits within the surrounding region. Based in Colchester, it will suit someone comfortable with local travel and working across a wider county setting.
