About the Opportunity

Flame Health Optometry is recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded independent optical practice in the North Dublin area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Dispensing Optician to join a well-established practice that has built an outstanding reputation for delivering personalised eye care and exceptional customer service. The practice benefits from a loyal and longstanding patient base and offers a welcoming, supportive working environment where patient care remains the primary focus.

The successful candidate will join an experienced and friendly team, working within a professional independent setting where quality, service and patient relationships are valued above volume-driven targets.

The Role

As a Dispensing Optician, you will play a key role in guiding patients through their eyewear journey, providing expert dispensing advice and ensuring the highest standards of customer care.

A significant proportion of the patient base consists of elderly patients, making empathy, patience and excellent communication skills essential qualities for success in the role.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing professional dispensing advice and recommendations
Supporting patients with frame and lens selection
Delivering exceptional customer service throughout the patient journey
Adjusting, fitting and repairing spectacles
Building long-term relationships with patients
Working closely with Optometrists and practice colleagues
Maintaining high standards of patient care and professionalism

Candidate Requirements

Qualified Dispensing Optician
Strong dispensing and customer service skills
Patient, caring and empathetic approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trust and rapport with patients of all ages
Professional, organised and team-oriented mindset
Previous independent practice experience advantageous but not essential
