Prescription Charges Set To Rise In April
The Department of Health has indicated that prescription charges in England will rise from £7.65 to £7.85 from 1st April this year.
This rise has been described as 'deeply disappointing' and heaping 'unfairness on top of illness'.
It has also been suggested that the rising cost of prescriptions will actually increase NHS spending in the long run, as patients who struggle to afford to buy the medication they need leave illnesses untreated and eventually require hospital treatment instead.
What do you think about this rise? Will this make a significant difference to the amount you spend on medication?
