JOB Details:

Job Overview

Flame Health Optometry have been instructed by our client to recruit a part-time Optometrist for their Thirsk practice in North Yorkshire, offering a salary of £55,000 to £65,000 per annum.

This role will suit a qualified, GOC registered practitioner who values patient time, professional autonomy and a supportive, customer-focused environment.

About the Job

You will work in a fully computerised practice with an average of 30 minutes test time, allowing you to give each customer the attention they need. Day to day, you will provide clinical eye care, work closely with a highly trained retail team and help deliver a seamless customer experience.

Our client also welcomes involvement in local enhanced schemes and pre-reg supervision. Full induction, training, yearly CPD and access to e-learning are provided, alongside professional fees covered, staff discount and friends and family discount.

About the Employer

Our client is a family-run optical and hearing care business with a clear focus on local support, care and friendly service.

The organisation places value on professional freedom, staff development and a consistent customer experience. It is a business where people are given time to do the job properly and where progression is supported rather than rushed.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a qualified, GOC registered Optometrist with sound clinical judgement and a genuine commitment to excellent customer care. Newly qualified Optometrists are welcome, provided they are ready to take a hands-on approach and work closely with the wider team.

You should be someone who wants to grow, develop and contribute to a practice built around the customer. A willingness to build rapport, get involved in local enhanced schemes and support pre-reg supervision is important, as is an adaptable and friendly manner.

Who This Role Suits

This role will appeal to an Optometrist seeking part-time work with flexibility, support and the time to practise properly. It is well suited to someone who enjoys direct patient care, values teamwork and wants to make a positive contribution within a busy practice.

It will also suit a practitioner looking for a setting where development is taken seriously and where they can be part of a team that is focused on service, care and professional standards.

Job Location

The role is based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, on an onsite basis. Thirsk is a market town with good local character and straightforward access to the surrounding area.
