Job Overview

Flame Health Optometry are proud to be working with a well-established independent optical group in the Essex area to recruit a GOC-registered Optometrist for a full-time or part-time permanent position. This role offers a salary of ÂŁ50,000 to ÂŁ75,000 per annum, depending on experience, and would suit a clinician who values patient-led care, measured appointment times and a flexible working pattern.

About the Job

You will be carrying out comprehensive eye examinations across modern independent practices in locations through the Essex area, with 30-minute testing times giving you the space to work carefully and without undue pressure.

Experienced Optical Advisors will support the patient journey, allowing you to focus on clinical assessment, tailored advice and consistent service delivery.

The role also offers scope to become involved in enhanced clinical services as the business continues to invest in technology and professional development. It is a position for someone who wants to combine day-to-day patient care with the chance to grow within a practice that values clinical standards.

About the Employer

Our client is a well-established independent optical group serving local communities in Essex. The business is known for a friendly, patient-focused approach, with clinical care placed at the centre of the service and a close-knit team environment.

The practices are equipped with modern diagnostic equipment and supported by experienced colleagues, creating a setting where quality of care is prioritised alongside long-term development. There is also a clear emphasis on ongoing clinical and professional progress within the organisation.

What We Are Looking For

You must be a GOC-registered Optometrist with a genuine commitment to outstanding patient care. The successful candidate will bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, the confidence to make clinical decisions independently, and a team-oriented approach grounded in a patient-first mindset.

Experience within an independent practice setting would be beneficial, along with an interest in developing clinically and contributing to enhanced services. A calm, thorough and professional manner will be important in this role.

Who This Role Suits

This role will suit an Optometrist who wants to move into a supportive independent practice where longer appointment times allow for more personalised care. It will also appeal to someone looking for flexibility, professional development and the opportunity to progress over the longer term.

Job Location

The position is based across the area of Essex. These locations offer a mix of coastal and market-town settings, with access to the wider county.
