Flame Health Optometry have been instructed to recruit an Optometrist for a full-time, permanent position in Alton, Hampshire, offering £55,600 to £69,700 per annum depending on experience.
This opportunity would suit a GOC-registered Optometrist with community practice experience who is committed to high-quality, patient-centred eye care.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will provide comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens appointments and other services such as dry eye care, according to your qualifications and the needs of the practice. You will advise patients on visual health, lifestyle factors and preventative care, while making clear recommendations focused on their needs.
You will work closely with Dispensing Opticians and support staff to ensure smooth patient journeys. The role includes maintaining accurate patient records, using specialist equipment such as OCT, fundus cameras, tonometry and visual fields, participating in clinical governance and quality assurance, and keeping your knowledge current through CPD.

You must hold a BSc (Hons) in Optometry or an equivalent degree and be registered with the General Optical Council as a qualified Optometrist. Experience within community practice is required, while additional accreditations such as GRR or Post Cataract would be beneficial.
You will bring strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a patient-centred approach based on empathy and professionalism.
Accuracy in record-keeping, effective time management and the ability to work under pressure are important, as is the capacity to collaborate across clinical and retail teams. A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development is essential.
