Flame Health’s Optometry division is currently working in partnership with a well-established, forward-thinking independent optical group to recruit a qualified Dispensing Optician (FBDO) for a Practice Manager opportunity based near Woking, Surrey.

The Role
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the practice, ensuring the delivery of outstanding clinical and customer service standards. You will lead from the front, driving performance, supporting your team and maintaining a strong focus on the overall patient journey.

This role requires a commercially aware and people-focused leader who can balance operational efficiency with a high standard of care.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for leading, coaching and developing the practice team, ensuring a positive and high-performing culture. Managing rotas, staffing levels and holiday planning will be key to maintaining smooth day-to-day operations. You will oversee diary management and booking efficiency, ensuring optimal clinic utilisation.

A strong understanding of business performance is essential, with responsibility for monitoring KPIs, managing budgets and maintaining effective stock control. You will ensure all operational and compliance standards are consistently met, while delivering an exceptional patient experience at every touchpoint.

Requirements
Applicants must be a GOC-registered Dispensing Optician (FBDO qualified) with previous experience in a leadership or management capacity. Strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team are essential.

Package & Benefits
A competitive salary of up to £43,000 is available depending on experience. The role is full-time, working 40 hours over 5 days with no Sunday requirement. The package includes 5 weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays and an additional day off for your birthday. Professional fees, including GOC registration and indemnity insurance, are covered, alongside a company pension scheme.
