Flame Health Optometry is supporting an exciting opportunity for an Optical Assistant Manager to join a reputable Independent Optical and Hearing company based in the Midsomer Norton area.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Optical Advisor, Dispensing Optician or Assistant Manager who is looking to step into a comprehensive leadership role with mentoring, management development and long-term career progression.

The successful candidate will join a busy and well-established community-focused branch supported by an experienced Branch Manager and friendly team. The practice provides optical clinics four days per week alongside regular hearing care services, creating a varied and rewarding working environment.

This role is ideally suited to someone with previous optical experience who is confident supporting branch operations, leading colleagues and helping drive the continued success of a busy practice.

Position: Optical Assistant Manager

Location: Midsomer Norton, Somerset
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Pattern: Flexible working pattern across Monday to Saturday as arranged by the Branch Manager
Salary: Competitive basic salary dependent on experience
Bonus: Achievable bonus scheme

Key Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day running of the practice
Assist with leading and motivating the team
Deliver excellent customer service and patient care
Work towards store and company performance targets
Support business growth and branch profitability
Maintain high operational and clinical standards
Provide training and ongoing support to colleagues
Stay up to date with optical and hearing care developments
Lead by example and promote a positive team culture

Candidate Requirements

Previous optical experience essential
Experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commercially aware with good organisational skills
Confident, approachable and hands-on management style
Able to perform effectively within a busy retail environment
Keen to learn, develop and progress within the optical industry
