Flame Health Optometry is supporting an exciting opportunity for an Optical Assistant Manager to join a reputable Independent Optical and Hearing company based in Bournemouth, Dorset.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Optical Advisor, Dispensing Optician or Assistant Manager who is looking to step into a fully comprehensive position with mentoring, management development and long-term career progression.

The successful candidate will join a busy, high-performing branch supported by an established Branch Manager and experienced team. The practice operates within a fast-paced environment and is equipped with OCT and full pre-screening technology, delivering a high standard of patient care and customer experience.

Key Job Details

Position: Optical Assistant Manager
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, UK
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, flexible across Monday to Saturday as arranged by the Branch Manager
Salary: Competitive basic salary dependent on experience
Bonus: Achievable bonus scheme

Key Responsibilities

Help manage the day-to-day running of the practice
Help lead and support the team to deliver excellent customer service
Work towards store and company performance targets
Drive business growth and profitability
Ensure high clinical and customer care standards
Provide training and ongoing support to team members
Stay up to date with the latest optical and hearing care developments
Motivate, support and lead by example

Candidate Requirements

Previous optical experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commercially aware with good organisational skills
Confident, approachable and hands-on management style
Able to perform effectively within a busy retail environment
Keen to learn, develop and progress within the optical industry
