Job Overview

Flame Health Optometry Division is working in partnership with a highly established independent optical group to recruit a Full-Time Optical Advisor for their practice in Poole.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, high-performing practice with a strong and experienced management team. The role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment where patient care, customer service and commercial success are equally valued.

The successful candidate will join a well-established team and play a key role in supporting the continued success of the practice.

Working Hours
35 hours per week
Flexible working pattern arranged by the Branch Manager
Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday: 8:30am – 4:30pm

About the Role

The Optical Advisor position is varied and customer-facing, focusing on delivering exceptional patient care and customer service within a busy practice environment.

Responsibilities include:

Welcoming and assisting patients throughout their journey
Answering telephone enquiries and booking appointments
Pre-screening patients prior to eye examinations
Advising on frame and lens options
Dispensing, fittings, adjustments and repairs
Managing collections and reception duties
Supporting the day-to-day operation of a high-volume practice
The practice is fully equipped with OCT technology and comprehensive pre-screening equipment, allowing the team to deliver a high standard of clinical care and patient experience.

Candidate Requirements

Previous optical experience is highly desirable
Candidates with strong retail management, sales or customer service backgrounds will also be considered
Proven ability to work within a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patient-focused approach with excellent customer service standards
Commercially aware with a strong sales record
Self-motivated, ambitious and career-minded
Comfortable working towards targets and objectives
