This job posting is for an Optical Consultant & Front of House role at a leading independent optician based in The North Oxford Area. The role requires experience in the optical industry, and the key focus is on providing an exceptional customer experience in both clinical and retail settings. As a first point of contact for patients, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, handling customer queries, and ensuring the practice is welcoming and well-organized.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a welcoming, front-of-house service, managing customer interaction from arrival to departure.
• Maintain the practice’s inviting and professional ambiance, including appearance and background music.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring high standards of service and efficiency.
• Work closely with the practice manager to foster a positive team environment.
• Handle diary management, patient appointments, and retail sales when necessary.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and the clinical team, contributing to a smooth flow of operations.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Optical dispensing experience
• Experience with Optix software (desirable but not essential).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, relaxed, yet busy environment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues.

Personal Traits:

• Friendly, outgoing, with excellent communication skills.
• A calm demeanor under pressure.
• Interest in people, with the ability to engage customers and build rapport.

• Starting pay from £25,000 annually, with bonuses based on performance.
