About the Job

Working five days a week, including Saturdays, you will be part of the day-to-day life of a busy optical store, with working hours from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. The role combines customer service with technical support, so you will be interpreting prescriptions, guiding frame selection, giving detailed lens advice, taking measurements, and carrying out adjustments and repairs as required.

You will also support the wider running of the store through stock management, merchandising, and general upkeep. This is a hands-on position where you will work with curated quality products and help ensure the practice remains organised, welcoming, and well presented.

About the Employer

The emphasis is on quality products, informed advice, and attentive service, with the successful person playing a practical role in keeping the store running smoothly.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a fundamental grounding in retail optics and be comfortable interpreting prescriptions accurately. Experience in frame selection, detailed lens advice, taking measurements, adjustments, and repairs is important, along with familiarity with the day-to-day operations of a busy store.

You should also bring enthusiasm, dynamism, and an empathetic personality. A flair for fashion and styling will be valued, as will a practical approach to stock control, merchandising, and store maintenance.

Who This Role Suits

This role will suit an experienced optical assistant who is ready to take on a varied, customer-facing position in a busy setting. It will appeal to someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge with personal service and who is looking for a stable full-time move in retail optics.
