The Opportunity

Flame Health’s Optometry Division is delighted to present a unique opportunity for an experienced Optical Advisor / Dispenser to join a luxury, high-end independent opticians based in Sheffield.

This is a full-time, front-of-house, practice-based role within a modern, spacious, and design-led environment, offering an exceptional patient journey and a carefully curated premium frame range. The practice is forward-thinking, and ambitious, and is seeking a confident, outgoing Optical Advisor to play a key role in leading day-to-day operations and helping grow the practice alongside the resident Optometrist.

About the Practice

Our client is a highly respected independent opticians, known for delivering a level of service that goes beyond today’s expected standards. They have built a reputation for clinical excellence, outstanding customer care, and a luxury optical experience tailored to each patient.

You’ll be working in a supportive and friendly team environment, with the autonomy to take ownership of the front of house while being fully supported by experienced optical professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting as the primary Optical Advisor / front-of-house lead
• Dispensing spectacles to a high clinical and aesthetic standard
• Advising patients on premium frames and lenses
• Booking appointments and managing patient flow
• Meeting and greeting patients and delivering a first-class experience
• Taking measurements, frame adjustments, and aftercare
• Confidently managing all customer-facing and day-to-day practice tasks
• Supporting the growth and development of the practice alongside the Optometrist
• Maintaining exceptional levels of customer service at all times

Candidate Requirements

• Previous optical experience is essential (Optical Advisor / Dispenser)
• Confident working independently and leading front-of-house operations
• Comfortable in a high-end, patient-focused environment
• Friendly, professional, and commercially aware
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Passion for independent optics and delivering outstanding patient care
