JOB DESCRIPTION

Supervising Dispensing Optician Job Bridgnorth
Optometry Jobs Shropshire

Flame Health is currently working with a well-established and highly successful optical practice in Bridgnorth, Shropshire to recruit a GOC-registered Dispensing Optician Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to join a modern practice that combines clinical excellence with a supportive and team-focused culture.

This position could suit an experienced Dispensing Optician already in leadership, or someone ready to take the next step into a supervisory role.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to combine expert dispensing with leadership responsibilities in a busy community-focused practice. Working alongside another non-DO Supervisor, you will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day running of the store while continuing to deliver excellent patient care.

The successful candidate will support team development, staff training, holiday cover, and operational standards, making this a varied and rewarding opportunity with genuine progression potential.

Both part-time and full-time applications will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality dispensing services while also supporting the wider team and practice operations.

Your duties will include supervising daily workflow, cashing up, assisting with staff training, covering holidays, helping to upskill team members, and ensuring a consistently high standard of customer care throughout the patient journey.

You will also work closely with the wider leadership team to maintain an efficient, positive, and commercially successful environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a GOC-registered Dispensing Optician with strong dispensing knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for patient care.

Previous supervisory experience would be beneficial, although this role would also suit a Dispensing Optician looking for their first step into management.

You should be proactive, organised, and motivated to help develop both people and practice performance.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this role is £37,000 depending on experience, with both part-time and full-time hours available.

You will also benefit from working within a strong and established team, access to modern optical technology, and clear opportunities for future career progression.
