Flame Health Optometry have been instructed to recruit a Business Relationship Executive for an onsite, full-time position based in East Grinstead. This role will suit a confident relationship-builder with experience in sales, account management, or business development, who can strengthen professional partnerships and support growth for a private ophthalmology service.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Business Development, you will build and develop relationships with independent and multiple optometry practices, conducting regular face-to-face visits and creating structured engagement plans to increase referrals. You will also identify partnerships with sports, health and fitness clubs, employers, hotels, and concierge networks to promote services such as laser eye surgery, cataract care, and lens procedures.
The position includes organising educational evenings, patient information events, and local promotional activity, while working with marketing to maintain consistent messaging. You will record interactions in Salesforce, monitor referral activity and opportunities, and provide reports covering relationship activity, referral trends, and event or partnership returns. As a representative of the clinic, you will maintain a strong understanding of procedures, outcomes, and patient pathways.
Our client is an established private healthcare organisation specialising in ophthalmology, with a reputation for advanced clinical expertise and high standards of patient service. Its services include cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, laser eye surgery, and retina care, supporting patients from the UK and overseas.
The organisation is responding to growing demand for eye care and is exploring further development through private provision and partnerships with NHS trusts. This creates scope for a commercially aware individual to contribute to referral growth, community relationships, and broader awareness of specialist ophthalmic services.
You will bring proven experience in relationship development, sales, or account management, alongside strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with a customer relationship management system is essential, with Salesforce or a similar platform preferred.
The role requires excellent organisation, close attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing a territory. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required. Experience in healthcare, optics, or aesthetics would be advantageous, as would knowledge of referral pathways, particularly within optometry, and involvement in events or local marketing initiatives.
You should be confident, credible, commercially aware, and motivated by growth, with a polished approach suited to a premium healthcare environment.
This opportunity is suited to a self-starting relationship professional who enjoys working in the field, developing trusted connections, and turning conversations into meaningful commercial opportunities. It will appeal to someone seeking autonomy, variety, and the chance to contribute directly to the growth of a specialist healthcare service.
The role is based onsite in East Grinstead, West Sussex, with responsibility for developing relationships across the surrounding local area.
