Flame Health Audiology have been instructed to recruit an Audiologist for an onsite role in Northampton, with a salary of £45,000–£55,000 depending on experience. The package also includes a bonus scheme, typically around 10% of salary, linked to hearing aid packages sold, along with parking, paid professional fees, funded CPD events, and annual leave that increases with service. This role will suit an experienced audiologist who is comfortable working with a high level of autonomy and taking ownership of a department.
This is a hands-on audiology position with responsibilities similar to a managerial role, as you will be running the department independently and overseeing day-to-day audiology services. It is important that candidates applying have the required amount of experience to handle this responsibility. The working pattern includes two Saturdays out of every four, with a set weekday off when Saturday is worked, and there is no Sunday working. You will be supporting returning patients, so continuity of care and confidence in clinical recommendations are important.
The clinic already has an agreement with Phonak, one of the leading hearing aid brands, and knowledge of Phonak products is important because of the number of repeat patients. There is also openness to other manufacturers depending on your experience and preference, which gives scope to shape the department within your own area of expertise.
Our client is an established practice in the optometry sector with an existing audiology service and a patient base that includes a significant number of returning visitors. The role sits within a setting where the audiologist is trusted to work independently and manage the department with minimal day-to-day oversight.
The business offers practical support that reflects a stable, patient-focused environment, including parking, paid professional fees, and up to three funded CPD events each year. Annual leave starts at 24 days plus bank holidays, with additional loyalty days accrued according to length of service, up to a maximum of six extra days. The overall package is structured to support both professional development and long-term retention.
We are looking for an audiologist with at least a few years of experience, as this position requires someone who can manage the department independently. Experience or strong knowledge of Phonak products is important, given the number of returning patients and the existing supplier arrangement.
You should be confident working with a high degree of autonomy and comfortable taking responsibility for the clinical and commercial side of the audiology service. A steady, reliable approach is essential, along with the ability to build trust with patients and make informed product recommendations. [suggestion: relevant audiology qualification or professional registration if applicable] would be expected for a role of this nature.
This role will suit an audiologist who is ready to take the next step into a more autonomous position and wants the responsibility of running a department. It will appeal to someone who values continuity, practical support, and a clear working pattern, while still having room to apply their own product knowledge and clinical judgement.
The role is based in Northampton, West Northamptonshire, with on-site working and parking included. It offers a straightforward local base within reach of the town and surrounding areas.
