Senior Business Development Manager Job London

JOB Details:

Job Overview

Flame Health Optometry have been instructed on a brand new opportunity to recruit a Senior Business Development Manager for a field-based role covering Central and Greater London working for a contact-lens manufacturer. Offering a salary of £55,000–£58,000 per annum plus an additional £12,000 bonus and company car, this position will suit an accomplished sales professional who can build trusted customer relationships and turn commercial insight into sustained growth.

About the Job

You will manage a defined territory, with responsibility for annual sales of £4 million to £7 million. As the primary contact for your customers, you will develop a strong understanding of their business objectives and identify ways to improve performance, customer retention and the patient journey.

Your work will include account planning, growing product adoption and market share, identifying new business opportunities, and launching products and services. You will also plan customer training, events and in-store activity, while bringing product knowledge and clinical evidence to customer conversations. Working with Key Account Managers, Professional Affairs colleagues and other internal teams, you will contribute to a clinical and commercial territory plan and help resolve customer issues. The role involves regular travel across the territory, occasional international travel and attendance at industry and customer events, sometimes in the evening or at weekends. An electric company car, laptop, iPad and mobile phone are provided.

About the Employer

Our client operates in the eye care sector, working with eye care professionals and store teams. Its work brings together customer partnerships, product and clinical expertise, and commercial growth. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to customer education and to initiatives that support contact lens awareness, fitting efficiency and the patient journey.

The position involves close collaboration across sales and professional affairs, with a shared focus on customer outcomes and business performance. Further details about the organisation’s size and wider culture have not been provided.

What We Are Looking For

You will bring demonstrable sales experience, a record of achieving results and the business acumen to identify and develop customer growth opportunities. A degree is preferred; college-level education is also noted. Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills are important, as is the ability to understand customer needs, influence stakeholders and communicate credibly at different levels. You will be organised and able to prioritise territory activity, analyse customer performance and manage competing demands. The role calls for a motivated, resilient and results-oriented approach, with the initiative to work independently and collaboratively. You should be comfortable presenting to customers and colleagues, proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and keen to keep developing your knowledge.

Who This Role Suits

This opportunity will appeal to an experienced sales professional ready to take ownership of a substantial territory and build lasting customer partnerships. It may particularly suit someone who enjoys combining commercial planning with customer-facing work, and who is looking for a role where their sales results and consultative approach can make a measurable contribution.

Job Location

This is a field-based role covering London, with a strong preference for candidates based within the M25 area. Regular travel across the territory is required.
