Flame Health Optometry are looking for a confident, organised Dispensing Optician to join our client who are a proud independent group of practices and step into the role of Practice Manager. This is a rare opportunity to take over a well-run, much-loved community practice with the benefit of a full handover from the current Manager who will be retiring. We are seeking someone who can start around July 2026 to allow a planned three-month overlap for a smooth transition – learning the rhythm, culture, and daily management of the practice directly from the outgoing manager.

About the Role
This role is central to the smooth running of the practice. As sole Dispensing Optician and Practice Manager, you will be responsible for:
Day-to-day management of the practice
Supporting and coordinating reception staff
Working closely with the Optometrist in clinic each day
Leading dispensing, styling, and lens selection
Ensuring patients receive outstanding, personalised service
Maintaining practice standards, processes, and workflows
Using Optix PMS for appointments, records, dispensing, and ordering
You will inherit a well-structured practice with clear systems in place and the opportunity to put your own stamp on things over time.

Nikon, Seiko, and Rodenstock lenses as our main suppliers
A curated selection of independent eyewear
A patient base accustomed to quality, honesty, and expert dispensing guidance

This position would be ideal for a Dispensing Optician who:
Has strong organisational and leadership skills
Enjoys being the “go-to” person in the practice
Wants the autonomy and responsibility that comes with independent practice

Is confident supporting and guiding a small, friendly team
Wants a stable, well-supported role with meaningful influence
Experience with Optix PMS is helpful but not essential—training will be provided.
