Cold Weather Plan for England 2012
As part of the Cold Weather Plan for England 2012, The Department of Health have published action cards summarising what healthcare professionals in England should do to protect public health when temperatures drop this winter.
The cards are quick reference and summary guides aimed at staff across different areas of the health and social care system. Pharmacists have a key role in reminding people to have sufficient medicine supplies for winter months and can help with preventive medicines management.
The plan also recommends that essential staff be immunised against influenza and steps be taken to ensure the pharmaceutical supply chain remains guaranteed against adverse winter weather.
This will start from 1st November to 31st March 2013. As a Pharmacist, are you prepared?
