Services Manager - Bristol - Fixed Term Contract supporting healthcare
Flame Health Associates are seeking a Service Manager in the Bristol area, on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract, on behalf of our client who are a dynamic, innovative UK healthcare company that works in partnership with the NHS to deliver specialist clinical eye care services safely and effectively.
The company is growing rapidly and operates services in a number of locations around the UK. Their clinics operate in both fixed and mobile settings, in the community and on NHS Trust sites.
The Service Manager is key role within a company management structure which is largely flat, reporting to the Operations Director, who reports to the Board. The Service Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of one or more of the company’s clinical services within a designated region or location. Operational responsibility covers service delivery against contract objectives, team management and client liaison, including reporting.
With core responsibility for delivering an excellent service, including the maintenance of high clinical and quality standards, setting and achieving utilisation and growth targets, the Service Manager will be expected to ensure continual improvement of performance. The Service Manager will lead and motivate the clinic team, including employed staff, locums/freelancers and contractors, to deliver outstanding results.
The Service Manager is expected to lead service improvement and development initiatives. This will include liaising with clients, patients, relevant third parties and other stakeholders to raise the profile of the company and to identify new service opportunities.
The Service Manager will promote a culture of trust, positive relationships, teamwork, open communication, information to ensure partnership working and collaboration between the company clinical team, patients, clients and other stakeholders.
Oversee the efficient operation and administration of assigned service(s) maintaining adherence to relevant legal frameworks and standards set by the Senior Management Team.
Proactively manage scheduling of clinical and administration staff ensuring that sufficient capacity is available to meet the current and future requirements of the service, coordinating with Operations Manager and Operations Director to ensure continuity and consistency across the organisation.
It is desirable that the candidate has a first degree in a business or operations management or equivalent, or equivalent experience. Our client are looking for someone who has experience with managing people, and training. Project management skills are also advantageous.
