REC's JobsOutlook: November

The latest JobsOutlook survey from the REC has been released and we round up some of the key points: quality
Whilst the UK unemployment rate remains unchanged at 4.8%, the survey has uncovered that hiring intentions remain strong and their analysis suggests that employer confidence has stabilised.
There has been some positive news for those looking for a new job or working within the recruitment sector, as hiring remains steady with 25% of employers intending to increase their permanent head count.
Scott Liversidge, Managing Partner at Flame Health Associates comments: “This is positive news from the JobsOutlook survey; from our perspective, it is certainly aligned with our own findings, pre and post Brexit we witnessed an uncertain market, however, now the economy is responding more positively than anticipated, we are seeing more and more confidence throughout the business, with our clients certainly looking at 2017 with more confidence than expected 3-6 months ago”
25% of employers* believe that new funds to support regional economic growth should be top of the list in today's Autumn Statement. 18% of employers would encourage more incentives to help start-ups and SMEs employ new workers.
