Salary up to £70,000 p.a.
Flame Care are currently recruiting for a Principal/Head for a 38-52 week school for students aged 7-19 with autistic spectrum disorders. For over 35 years our client has been providing specialist residential schools, care and education for children and young adults with autism, Asperger syndrome, severe learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and complex needs and their services are rated as 'trusted providers' by Ofsted and CQC.
Located in the glorious Dorset countryside with 28 acres of land for play and relaxation, the school has a theatre, a sports hall, indoor and outdoor riding arenas and a swimming pool. Students have full access to the National Curriculum with teaching appropriately differentiated to meet their needs.
In addition, the school draws upon a proven programme of specialist education and 24-hour care with a wide range of clinical and therapeutic inputs.
Candidates must have:

  • Successful experience as either Head or Deputy Head within a Special Educational Needs environment
  • NPQH or Principals Qualifying Programme
  • Recognised Degree level teaching qualification or equivalent
  • Management qualification
