GPs Predict That Waiting Times Will Increase

The Royal College of General Practitioners have polled 206 UK GPs and the results have revealed that more than 70% of them predict that waiting times to see aimages GP will increase in the next two years.
Six in ten of those polled also said patients in England are already waiting longer than the reccommended 48 for an appointment with a GP.
This difficulty in making an appointment has been attributed to cuts in funding for Primary Care, combined with an increase in workloads for GPs, which is beginning to result in 'big cracks' appearing in care and services for patients.
Worryingly, eight in ten of those polled also said they do not have sufficient resources to provide high quality care to patients.
