Brand New Opportunity For An Associate Specialist In Powys, Wales

Associate Specialist Opportunity - Welshpool, Powys
Flame Care have a fantastic, brand new opportunity to offer for an Associate Specialist to join an expanding mental health organisation in Powys, Wales.
This is to work in a 23 bedded hospital and care home facility that provides a specialist treatment and rehabilitation service (including locked rehabilitation) for men with complex mental health problems and co-morbid conditions such as learning disabilities, personality disorders and substance misuse.
Under the supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be expected to carry out a full range of clinical duties supporting patients. You will review and play a key role within the Multidisciplinary Team, attend patient reviews, CPAs, prepare reports for internal and external meetings and actively participate in the Doctors’ on call rota. They are keen to support and develop a Doctor seeking Consultant status.
Applicants must have: 

  • Have completed ten years’ medical work since obtaining a primary medical qualification accepted by the General Medical Council (GMC) for full registration on the Principal List
  • Have served a minimum of four years at Registrar, Specialist Registrar or Staff grade, at least two of which should have been in the appropriate specialty
  • Have passed the MRCPsych Examinations or equivalent
  • Possess an up to date CPD portfolio in line with Royal College of Psychiatry requirements
  • Be Section 12 Approved with current up to date Approval
  • Possess full registration with the GMC on the Principal List
  • Hold a full UK drivers licence and have access to a vehicle on a daily basis 
  • Specialist Registration would be an advantage but is not essential
