Dental care for the elderly

The Team at Flame Health Dentistry and Flame Care are happy to hear that the chair of the British Dental Association’s general dental practice committee, Dr John Milne, is urging Labour’s Andy Burnham to include key health and social measures including the provision for the oral health needs of the elderly population in care homes.
Dr Milne believes staff at care homes need to be trained to deal with the oral health of patients, including dementia and Alzheimer's who may not be able to express they are in pain.
Dr John Milne said the issue needed addressing ahead of the overhaul of the NHS and changes being implemented from April.
Will this be included into Labour plans?
