The Queen Visits Nottingham
This week has been an exciting one for the Flame Pharma team.
The Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were a matter of metres away from the Flame Pharma office, visiting our city as part of the Jubilee celebrations. Arriving by train, they greeted residents from Nottingham before they moved on to the Old Market Square where they were greeted by crowds that had gathered to catch a glimpse of her Royal Highness. Some waited patiently from as early as 4:00am. By 10am when they arrived, around 20,000 royal enthusiasts were present to welcome the Queen to Nottingham. The Royal party waved to the public from the Council House balcony before traveling to Vernon Park where a plaque was unveiled conferring the Park’s Queen Elizabeth II Fields in Trust status.
This was the first visit that the Queen has made to Nottingham since 1977 when she arrived to open the Queens Medical Centre Hospital which is the largest hospital in the United Kingdom and the largest teaching hospital in Europe.
The tour continues with Her Majesty heading to the Anglia Region and the South East England and up to Scotland in the beginning of July.
