Plans are well underway nationwide to commemorate and celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Marking 60 years of the Queen’s reign the celebrations will culminate in an extended holiday weekend from 2 – 5 June 2012 in the UK.
According to research Brits will spend a total of £823million celebrating the Queen’s 60-year anniversary, on food, drink and Union Flag-inspired decoration. From planting thousands of commemorative oak trees across Hampshire to a beer festival in Cambridgeshire and a 1950’s themed street party in Lanarkshire it seems that everyone is getting in to the party spirit. It is predicted that this weekend’s event will be the biggest and best ever.
