Should a Pharmacist Increase Medicine Awareness?
As a Pharmacist, what are your thoughts about the British Heart Foundation’s suggestion that Pharmacists should talk more to patients about their medical needs, in particular high blood pressure and cholesterol issues?
A survey was conducted last month by 2,125 adults. The results showed that about a quarter of respondents did not realise high cholesterol and high blood pressure increased the risk of heart disease – despite 624 people in the sample suffering from one of the conditions.
As there are more community pharmacies opening up across the UK, the BHF are urging Pharmacists to increase medicine awareness.
Do you do this already in your pharmacy? If so, do you find it successful? Please let Flame Health Pharmacy know.
