Changes to Methadone Prescriptions
Pharmacy contractors have warned that some pharmacy businesses could face income reductions of up to £90,000 per year when changes to methadone prescription reimbursements come into force.
The changes will see the introduction of a new £4.05 fee for all methadone oral solution prescriptions, but it will also see a reduction in the number of professional and CD fees paid to contractors dispensing single doses to patients in bulk.
As a pharmacist, what is the impact of these changes to your pharmacy? Do you see these changes as a good thing?
