Aims to Modernise Adult Care and Support in England
Flame Health were interested in hearing the speech made by the Queen yesterday. It outlined the Government's legislative programme for the coming year. There was a focus on Care, which Flame Health were very interested in hearing.
Key notes are as follows:
Social Care - Focus on quality care is opportunity for healthcare agencies
Care is a topic that is moving rapidly up the political agenda as the UK struggles to cope with the needs of an ageing population. The draft bill included in the Queen's Speech aims to modernise adult care and support in England, setting out to ensure local services are geared to meet the needs, outcomes and experiences of people. In striving for this, the bill will consolidate existing law into a single statute and streamline processes to enable local authorities and social workers to innovate and achieve better results on the ground. The hope is this will enable people to better plan for the future and understand what help is available to them.
