Unemployment Figures
UK unemployment has unfortunately increased by 128,000 in the three months to October, the highest level since 1994. Unemployment is now at a staggering 2.64m.
The Office for National Statistics revealed some figures which showed that:
- The jobless rate increased from 7.9% to 8.3%
- The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance rose to 1.6m
- Youth employment rose dramatically to 1,027m
Flame Health are shocked at how high the level of unemployment has risen, especially with the youth of today. It is frightening to see that a large percentage of youth are leaving school without employment. What start in life is this? What are the Government going to do to get a large proportion of these figures back into employment? It is a gloomy outlook for the New Year.
