Race for Life
This week the women at Flame Health have been gearing themselves up for this Saturday's Race for Life.
The Nottingham Embankment will be full of women determined to run, walk or jog 5km in aid of Cancer Research. Some women take part in celebration of surviving a cancer experience. Others take part in memory of a loved one or to give hope to a cancer-free future. But all share a common goal, to raise money for Cancer Research UK's groundbreaking work and to help save more lives.
Race for Life is the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK and since it began, an incredible 5.4 million participants across the UK raised over £362 million to fund the work of over 4,000 researchers, doctors and nurses dedicated to helping more people beat cancer. The money raised is used to fund research on all aspects of cancer, from the most basic nuts-and-bolts of cell biology to large studies of entire populations.
The event takes place annually with the celebration of life, sisterhood and hope is always guaranteed to be an emotional yet fun day. This year will doubtlessly be no exception.
Flame Health wish Claire, Fiona, Sam and Lauren lots of luck for the race and hope everyone who is competing has fun doing so!
Good Luck Ladies!
