Are We Ready to Phase Out Paper Prescriptions?
Health Minister Simon Burns has backed the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
Mr Burns stated that the Government had no plans to further review the service, which aims to phase out paper prescriptions at its release 2 stage.
Flame Health commented on this back in September 2010 stating that from 100 pharmacists only 51% felt it would be good for the pharmacy. A high percentage was worried about the consequences of the EPS going down. Many pharmacy bodies are also concerned with the functionality of EPS. The PSNC has even called for an evaluation of the EPS release 2 stage before it is implemented widely.
As a Pharmacist, how to you feel about the EPS. Are you all for the new electronic system? Or do you feel the implications still out way the pros of this new system? Please let Flame Health know.
