Optometry news - First-ever locum education day hosted by OT and the AOP.
Webinars that delivered on the day are now accessible online. An education day dedicated to locums, hosted by Optometry Today (OT). In partnership with the AOP, headline sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Vision. Supported by Boots Opticians, attracted 1790 attendees.
The one-day online event, which was held on 25 June, was the first of its kind for OT and the AOP.
The day comprised of five CPD-accredited sessions, all tailored to the needs of locum optometrists. As well as those considering locum work.
Speaking about the event, OT’s clinical editor and the AOP’s head of education, Dr Ian Beasley, explained: “Our first online locum day offered practitioners a suite of dedicated CPD sessions tailored to meet their specific needs. Delegates were able to broaden and consolidate their knowledge across a range of key clinical topics including record keeping, binocular vision, multimodal imaging and contact lenses.”
Topics covered in the webinar sessions included: tips for keeping clear and accurate clinical records with the AOP’s head of clinical and regulation, Henry Leonard, Professor Bruce Evans discussed guidance on orthoptics for busy locum optometrists...
