Myopia – WCO and IMI collaborate to promote myopia management survey

The World Council of Optometry (WCO) has collaborated with the IMI to distribute a survey investigating the uptake of myopia management by eye care professionals (ECP) worldwide.

The Myopia control attitudes and practice survey by the IMI builds on data gathered in 2016 and 2019 that sought to establish the adoption of evidence addressing myopia, and how this varies geographically amongst ECPs.

The survey is available in 10 languages and is open to ECPs worldwide until October 2022. Results are expected to be reviewed and reported in early 2023.

Professor Serge Resnikoff, chair of the IMI, commented on the survey: “Receiving feedback directly from eye care practitioners would help IMI to identify areas that need further knowledge dissemination and understand factors that could hinder practitioners from adopting best practice.”
