Optometrists will receive an invitation to register with the new platform from 14 March. Ran by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) in partnership with NHS Supply Chain. They began inviting healthcare professionals to the beta version of its PPE PortalĀ from Monday 28 February.
The existing DHSC PPE Portal has been available since summer 2020. This has been updated to ensure continued access to free personal protective equipment (PPE) and related items for eligible users until the end of March 2023.
All eligible users will receive an invite in the coming weeks, which will allow migration to theĀ new platform.
Eligible users should have already received an email confirming timings for their migration, which will have been sent to the email account registered with the previous version of the PPE Portal.
Migration began on 28 February for GPs, dentists, and orthodontists, with pharmacists to be uploaded from 7 March.
Optometrists are scheduled for upload during the week beginning 14 March.
