UK Report on Jobs For November

downloadThe UK Report On Jobs, produced by Markit and sponsored by the REC and KPMG LLP, has been published for November.
Over the past month, permanent placements have risen further, but the rate of growth has been the slowest in 18 months. There was also strong salary growth amid falling candidate availability.
Bernard Brown, Partner and Head of Business Services at KPMG, commented on the results:
“Not much sign of a happy Christmas in the job market. The rate at which permanent contracts are being signed is rising at the slowest rate in 18 months. This follows an unexpected fall in investment in the UK in Q3. With political uncertainty in the UK, and in particular the country’s position on Europe, could this be the start of a negative trend in the jobs market? Let’s hope not and that the initiatives announced in the Autumn Statement convert to new employment opportunities.”
Here at Flame Health, we are seeing no signs of things slowing down for Christmas just yet! In fact, with many people putting off thinking about a career move until the new year, from a candidate perspective this could be the perfect time to get one step ahead of the competition.
