New Online Service For Care Homes Announced
The Care and Support Minister Norman Lamb has announced the launch of a new online service which will help people to choose, compare and comment on care homes, as well as other care services, as part of the NHS Choices website.
The service will take the form of online profiles, which will include information such as:
- details on services provided from every registered care provider
- official reports from Care Quality Commission inspections
- comments from the public and star ratings
It is hoped that this service will create 'the most definitive online source of information on care services', with care providers already beginning to upload information to the site.
The service will allow people to select the best care for their individual needs and preferences; as Norman Lamb has said: 'A fully open, transparent and comprehensive service like this will leave bad care nowhere to hide', which the team at Flame Care think can only be a good thing!
