Controlling Your Blood Pressure Reduces Risk Of Chronic Kidney Disease

vegAs part of National Kidney Month, a campaign has been launched in the US to increase awareness of the link between high blood pressure (or hypertension) and chronic kidney disease.
High blood pressure can be hard to spot, due to its lack of symptoms. But if you are diagnosed with hypertension, it's important to get it under control as soon as possible.
Ways to reduce your blood pressure, and improve your health in general, include:

  • Eating less salt
  • Adding more protein to your diet
  • Exercise for 30 minutes at least 3 times per week
  • Quit smoking
  • Lose weight if you need to
