2015 Deadline For Patient Online Access
Following on from our earlier post regarding the moving of NHS medical records online, Flame Health have learnt that Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has announced that practices have until 2015 to provide online access to patient records, appointment booking and repeat prescriptions.
Jeremy Hunt has said that, rather than increasing the workload for GPs, which some have feared from this move, this will actually reduce the bureaucratic burden GPs currently face and free-up time to concentrate on other, more important, aspects of the job.
Patients - do you welcome this move, and how will it affect you?
GPs - what do you feel are the potential consequences of this change? And is the deadline realistic?
