Remote Prescribing and Injectable Cosmetic Medicines
Flame Health were keen to hear the recent announcement made by the General Medical Council (GMC) about remote prescribing and injectable cosmetic medicines.
The GMC announced that doctors are to be banned from prescribing Botox remotely. Physical examinations are now required before prescribing non surgical cosmetic medicine products. This new guidance came into affect on 23rd July.
There have been enquiries from prescribing nurses who administer, on whether this new guidance affects them. The GMC has stated that employers should be aware that this change has implications for those administrating cosmetic injectable products prescribed by doctors.
